The outdoors are one of the reasons that we decided to move to Seattle. Knowing the weather over the weekend is going to be perfect, we rented a car and hopped on the Ferry. Last time I went to Bainbridge was about 10 years ago. I vividly remember a cute little Norwegian town rested by the ocean. It’s called Poulsbo. The little town is still cute but my perspective has changed after all the travels I did over the years and seven years of living in NYC.
The entire ferry ride is about 35 minutes. If you are traveling with a vehicle, make sure to get to the ferry dot at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time . We got super lucky to make it on the ferry. we are literally the last car on the ferry!
Mountain Rainier is so beautiful from the water. You will for sure get a spectacular view of Seattle’s skyline across Elliott Bay on a sunny day.

We grabbed a quick bite at Hitchcock Deli in downtown Bainbridge. After that we headed out to the Bloedel Reserve. I will say it’s definitely met my expectations. The entire loop in the park is about 2 miles long with different vegetation along the way. It is a beautiful place to spend the afternoon.
From Bloedal Reserve to Poulsbo is about a 15 minutes drive. We walked around the downtown historical areas and grab some ice cream before heading back to Seattle.
